Chapter One: Into Darkness Pt. 1

01/25/2022

Water, dark water. It was in the bathroom sink and somehow I could see through it. It was mysterious, and I was tempted to touch it, so I put my hand in the dark substance, and I could see the bones in my hand as if I had suddenly obtained x-ray vision. It had freaked me out, so I pulled my hand out as fast as I could but it was fine.

Then the water began to fill the room at a rapid rate. I rushed to the door but it wouldn't budge. My eyesight blurred as panic began to consume me. The water splashed beneath my feet as I struggled to move around. My eyes moved rapidly in a haze to find something, anything, to make the water stop, but the water had already risen to my neck and I swam to the top for air. And as soon as I realized there was no way out, everything went black.

I was surrounded by the dark liquid and all the oxygen had soon drained from my lungs. My head was pounding and my chest felt like it was about to explode; an alarming ringing had filled my ears. As soon as I was about to accept my fate, I heard the sound of rushing water and air filled my lungs as I gasped for breath; gravity had been restored. My eyes slowly began to adjust to my surroundings.

The familiar sight of yellow dashed lines and the luminescent glow of the yellow street lights embraced me; the rough feeling of pavement beneath my fingertips. Then the sound of a sudden high-pitched voice brought me back to my senses.

"What, are you trying to propose to me? Sorry, but I'm not interested." They said followed by a little laugh.

I followed the sound of the voice. There stood a girl; her hair was dyed a vibrant shade of purple, her black roots peaked through the top; she was wearing a fair amount of purple. I started to walk towards her and as I got closer, I noticed she had heterochromatic eyes: the right was purple, the left, black. I was kind of bummed she said she wasn't interested; she was pretty.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"My name is Addy Anahera."

"Okay, and where are we exactly..? And why does it feel so real?" I asked outta curiosity and a touch of fright.

"Well, I guess you could call this place a dreamscape. You are basically lucid dreaming, but in another world of someone else's mind." As she stated this information I had slowly zoned out not understanding a single word that came from her mouth. It was like trying to understand a horse that could somehow talk, and as you sat there listening to it blabber on and on, all you really wonder is, how can this horse talk? And why the hell am I even here?

But this was sorta different, because the horse had the body of a female, was fairly dressed in purple, and was sorta hot not gonna lie.

"Are you even listening to me?" She asked, which had brought me back to reality, well dreamscape reality.

"Are you a talking horse?" I asked bluntly without realizing what I said. And SMACK! I was hit with a great amount of horsepower.

"How dare you call me a horse!! I am here just doing my one and only job and you insult me like this!?" She yelled frantically at me as I tried to regain my strength from being hit.

"Ow... That really wasn't needed." I rubbed my cheek periodically.

"You just called me a talking horse, which really makes no sense and I don't even understand why you even thought of that. So yes it was needed!" She called me out, but now all I saw was a lecturing horse.

I still had no idea what was going on or even why I am here, or what she meant by I came here to do my one and only job. So I just made the decision to ask.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry."

"Yeah, you bet-"

"Anyways, what do you want with me? The most famous person on Earth, Diablo Martinez." I said sarcastically.

"Well, first things first you, will never cut me off when I'm not finished spe-"

"Yeah yeah< just get to the point." She slapped me in the face with enough force to knock me back to the ground..

"Hey! What was that for?" I said, rubbing my cheek again.

"Didn't I just tell you not to cut me off when I'm speaking?"

"Yes, you did, I'm sorry it won't happen again." I then got back on my feet.

"It better not. So if you like you can call m-"

"Why don't I just call you Addy."

"That's what I was going to say but you interrupted me." She then kicked me in the shin.

"Ow! Why so abusive!"

" You need to listen!"

"Okay! But I still don't know why I'm here! Nor do I understand what you want with me!" I said, jumping up and down holding my shin. Then fell to the ground again.

"Well, I'm on a journey to get something that I loved and cared for back, and it's gonna be hard. And I am here because I need you. You are the son of a demon lord known as Lucifer. He plans to rip your world apart and set lose his demonic servants to harvest your souls."

"Okay, yeah. I realize that I really must be lucid dreaming because there is no way any of this is real. I mean you are basically just a talking horse as I thought. Don't know why but I did. Sad to see your pretty face disappear from a dream like this, but I think it's time for me to go before any more nonsense happens or that you periodically abuse me once more." I then pinched myself trying to wake up then realizing that she had hit me before harder than I dared to pinch myself, so I realized, I just won't be waking up for a while. And that maybe this is for real.

She then shot me an angry glare that looked like it held some murderous intent. Which really spooked me.

"Please don't hurt me again," I whimpered and blocked my face with my forearms in case she tried to hit me again. Surprisingly, she didn't, she just carried on with what she was saying.

"-I thought you might know where he was but so far you seem to be useless."

"Okay, that's not very nice."

"You think I care?"

"Could you please just tell me what I'm needed for?

"Seems you're not needed at all, I guess I came to the wrong useless person."

"Ouch... but then why'd you come see me of all people?"

"I just told you! I came to you because I thought you might know where your devilish father is hiding," She said, making quotation marks with your fingers. "You are also his son on the planet, or anywhere really. You were also the last one he made contact with. So once again do you know where he may be?"

"I'm sorry, but are you sure I was the last one he made contact with? My father left when I was young, when I was around six. So about eleven years ago."

She then turned around, staring at the empty sky and said,

"Eleven years of nothing.. No contact with anyone, really..? Didn't take a demonic lord so be so cautious and careful. But that doesn't matter. I will find you Lucifer and when I do," She then made a fist and punched into the air. "You're going down, even if it takes my last breath." She said without any hesitation.

The big question is, how was this girl child thingy, who was really probably around my age from the looks of it, going to defeat my father, who was well a demon lord. And she was well, nothing but a hotter girl version of Barney the Dinosaur.

I wanted to ask her, but by the time I spoke, she had already been saying her farewells.

"Well, I'll be seeing you soon, you should be up in three..." The ground started to shake.

"What's happening?"

"two..." Then it broke open

"ADDY!"

"one." I then fell but somehow she floated in the same place and all I could do was watch the bottom of her feet as I fell endlessly.

Once again darkness consumed me, I had the air all around me, brushing by me so fast but yet I couldn't breath. Everything was dark. My body wouldn't move anymore either. The light from where I fell was gone, and honestly I didn't care. If this was a dream, I couldn't tell anymore. I just wanted to see her again, she was pretty, even though she was mean.

She said she was gonna kill my father, and even though I barely knew him as my father, and that he was just like the god of all evil and bad, I still felt sad that he was gonna die, I wanted to at least know him, to get to talk to him, to ask why he left.

Tears started to form from my eyes but blew away due to the wind. Then a ringing noise came out of nowhere, and as I fell further the ringing became louder and louder. Then I hit the ground, it was hard and cold, really cold, I was breathing ever so lightly and I felt the air draining once more. I was going to die, at least that's what it felt like.
