Chapter 29: Monsters!

'This is awful.'

Amon was in the air being held by Gas Tank.

"Hey, how's the view, new guy?"

Archie asks grappling from building to building seemingly from a gadget on his waist.

"How much longer?"

Amon looked up to Sally who hadn't heard his yells. He saw Linen fly through the air as he had been launching himself with a huge hammer.

"WE'RE HERE!"

She lowered down as Amon realized Zefu and The Quiet Girl were waiting there. Linen landed on top of the building along with Archie pulling himself onto the building as well.

"Hey, you're alive? Thought me and Sally agreed to drop you?"

Archie asked with a cocky smile.

"We did, don't worry."

'What?'

Sally dropped Amon right above the roof but he landed on his feet.

"Oh come on, that was barely even high enough."

"Not trying to kill the guy, you asshole. I like him."

Sally landed as she pulled her mask off.

"Wait a minute…"

Archie got closer to Sally.

"You get a new gauge for your glasses?"

"Oh my, you pay close attention."

Sally wore a crop top jacket with a black long-sleeve shirt underneath, a customized gas mask on top of her head that was black and gray, heavy-duty black cargo pants, and an odd box on her back that helped her fly but also had a wire connected to a blade on the right side of her hip.

"You sharpened your bow again?"

Sally looked at Archies's apparel. He wore a long black and blue cloak, had some weaponry underneath his cloak, and his long black bow which had blue sharp tips. The bow had seemingly changed sizes from when Amon saw him grappling around earlier.

"Yeah, that Demon in Kakina chipped it when I stabbed it through the throat."

"That was a fun mission."

Sally reminisced.

'They can't be real right?'

Amon looked around in disappointment. He saw Linens apparel but it wasn't much with him having the same clothes as before but he held a large hammer/ax thing that was pretty intimidating.

"WE ARE READY FOR OUR MISSION CAPTAIN!"

"Now, now just a moment. We must wait for Anita"

Zefu walked over to Amon and handed him something.

'An earpiece?'

Amon stuck it in with hesitation.

"Hello?"

Anita was talking through the earpiece.

"Feels weird having 5 lines now."

"I'm sure if there was anyone that could get used to it, it'd be you Anita."

Zefu said to her over the comms.

"Yeah, short stock,"

Sally laughed as Anita said something Amon couldn't fully understand.

"Hey, where are these fucking monsters at Ani? It's getting boring!"

"Actually…They are right there."

Zefu pointed towards the parking lot below them.

"Linen do you mind?"

"YES BOSS!"

Linen lifted his weapon to his shoulder and crouched. He jumped up as high as he could, plunging straight for the location Zefu had pointed towards.

"It's about time we got to do something today!"

Archie put up his hood and readied his bow. Sally stood eagerly next to him, almost shaking.

*CRUMBLE*

Loud mouth went straight through the ground creating what seemed to be an endless hole.

"You know Amon one day you might just be as excited as them. We usually are out on patrol every night."

Zefu had a silent but cunning smile.

"Every night? When do you guys sleep?"

No one responded to Amon's question as the roof started to rumble.

"Ooooo how many! How many!"

Sally was out of her skin by now from excitement as she slowly got her mask ready on top of her head. Her gear started to glow in different spots, a bright or dark green as the shades interchanged with each other.

*Crash*

*Boom*

"That Brute is taking all the fun!"

"Now, now Sally don't blow a gasket, you know how monster nests work. They only ever run out if-"

*BOOM*

Flames erupted out of the hole

*Multiple screeches*

"If it catches ablaze…"

Hundreds of monsters the size of dogs came scurrying out. They had one eye, minimal hair, and sharp weird fangs.

"YES!"

One of the monsters climbed up to the top of the roof but in a blink of an eye, it was split in half.

"Was that Zefu? I didn't even see him move."

Amon looked as Zefu stood there with Quiet girl by his side.

"You got the rest while I handle Amon right?"

"Hell yeah!"

Sally put her mask on as her mask lens and tubes from her mask connected to her blade started to glow different shades of green a lot brighter. Archie smirked as his gear had glowing blue outlines.

*SKF*

Sally perched herself on the edge of the roof in anticipation. She watches as what seems to be hundreds of monsters climb up alongside the building. Archie jumped off the side of the building with a bag of arrows following him grappling away. Sally smiled under her mask and then yelled.

"LET'S KILL SOME FUCKING MONSTERS!"
