Chapter 48: Time Killing

-10 Minutes Till Sunrise-

*Crashes*

Kazuki crashed through a building and landed in another street.

'Her speed is off the charts!'

*Swift*

Ena's smile was demonic as she grabbed Kazuki by the face.

'It doesn't help when I can't hear a damn thing!'

*Biff*

Kazuki managed to slip out of her grasp mid-throw, he planted his feet as much as possible into the ground and attempted a strike to her face.

*Swift*

'This is annoying!'

Kazuki felt Ena at his back as she went to strike at his blind spot but her arm was grabbed and swatted upwards as Kazuki went on the offensive again. Ena appeared at his right side causing him to kick at her face but she once again seemingly used her raw speed to position herself to his left side. Faking a strike with her right hand she pulled back and hit his other side in an instant with her left fist. Kazuki then grabbed her by the hair pulling her head down and kneeing her in the face. She then jumped up and brought her leg down on top of his head causing him to let go of her hair. Ena then backed up wiping blood from her nose.

"Can you blame me for playing dirty here, you're practically cheating yourself!"

Ena then disappeared again as she appeared on both sides of Kazuki over and over again. He then grabbed at both of the copies and both led to nothing, Ena then uppercut him coming through the ground beneath him. Kazuki forced himself to maintain his ground as he grabbed her by the head again bringing her up and then immediately slamming her back into the ground, he let go only to raise his fist slightly as he imbued his fist with a little bit of his Aspect to strike her into the ground more. His fist was about to make contact as he suddenly felt a change in her aspect.

*Swift*

'I can't tell if it's her hypnosis or just her raw speed at this point!'

Ena kicked down on Kazuki's back slamming him into the ground where she had just been. Kazuki coughed as she repeatedly used her hypnosis to stomp down on him at lightning-like speeds.

'I'll use the last little bit of energy I have. The sun is sure to come up soon I can feel it!'

A bright light suddenly appeared from beneath Ena's feet as it pushed her off of Kazuki. He slowly stood up as the glowing light in his hand wasn't disappearing. He held a shield made out of what little sun energy he had left.

'I don't know how long this shield will last but…'

He looked at the glowing shield in his hand.

'I just need to kill time, I can feel it…the sun is rising.'

*Swift*

Kazuki clashed with Ena as her right forearm sizzled, pushing against the shield.

'I have to rely on pure instinct against this monster...I can't hear her even in the slightest if it wasn't for her being in such a monstrous state mentally. I don't think I could even react in time to her.'

Kazuki pushed harder as Ena's melting skin slid past and she shot a fist up to his chin.

*Boom*

A bright light engulfed both of them.

*Coughs*

The light settled as Kazuki stood above a crisp body. He could hear again.

"Damn princess…"

Kazuki's shield had been the source of the explosion. He used what little sun energy he had left and using his Demon Aspect he was able to conjure it into a shield.

'Regardless of if I conjure something into the sun it still will eventually give out…If I hold onto the ability or let it sit for a while the larger the attack will be. Still…'

He kicked Ena's charred body.

"I'm surprised you pushed me so far. I had to use a technique like that so soon."

Kazuki started to walk away as he put his hands in his pockets.

'The sun didn't have to come up for me to beat her, I was looking forward to it, regardless I would've won with ease then. What is it like 5 more minutes until it comes up, give or ta-'

*Skif*

Kazuki's thoughts were interrupted by a tug on his shoulder as Amon pushed the teenager over to the side.

"WATCH OUT!"

*Clash*

Kazuki looked at Amon as he came into contact with nothing but his blade seemed to have been clashing against something.

"What are you doing?"

Amon looked at Kazuki slightly while seemingly struggling to hold air back.

'He can't see her?'

Amon pushed back the air as Kazuki noticed a rock move.

'What is going on?'

Ena slowly reappeared out of thin air. She hunched backward as her eyes looked at the stars above.

Amon stood up firmly like he was ready for anything.

'He couldn't see her…'

Amon thought back as he watched Kazuki put his hand in his pockets. He saw Ena appear above Kazuki holding a sharp bar from the debris.

'It was her hypnosis ability! Even in such a state how is she able to use such an insane technique by pure instinct let alone!'

Amon held his blade up towards Ena.

"Look, kid…I know you said for me to stay out of your way but as you are now, I'm assuming you could use a hand."

Kazuki stood up and walked next to Amon.

"That ability she just did…there's no way she can continuously cast it. Her Aspect feels nothing like it was a moment ago. Still, like you said, In the state I'm in now without the sun I can't lay a killing blow."

"Then I'll make sure we both live to see the sunrise."

*Beep*

"3 Minutes and 32 seconds until the sun rises."

Ani said in Amon's ear.

'One thing is for sure. We both at the moment are not even close to being able to stop her for good. Our best bet is to let the boy get more energy from the sun when it rises...and if that doesn't work...'

He tightened his blade as he got ready to go on the offense. Memories of his classmates from long ago flashed in his head.

'I'll kill her myself'

Ena stared at the stars as her body was contorted.

'Where am I? What am I doing this for? Where is mom?'

She slowly tried to straighten her body back to normal.

'What was I doing again?'

*Slice*

Ena backed away from a katana that was swung by Amon.

'This human is still alive?'

She looked at him disappointedly as she felt pressure from her right side.

'I'm still alive?'

*Smack*

Kazuki punched Ena's arms as she blocked the blow.

'What's she doing?'

Kazuki went to land another punch on her but she dodged effortlessly.

"Now!"

Amon came in with a sudden barrage of slashes from his katana. Ena manages to dodge everyone but he relentlessly keeps up the slashes with immense precision. Kazuki suddenly appeared behind Ena with raw speed. She jumped up to avoid the both of them as Kazuki grabbed Amon and threw him at her.

'I can do this!'

Amon goes for a finishing blow to the head.

*Swift*

Ena appears behind him seamlessly as everything goes completely silent for both Kazuki and Amon.

'The last thing I remember before blacking out…I was about to die from the attack the Green and Blue performed. Then I was with mother.'

Ena stared at Amon's back kicking him back into the ground.

'What was it, mother told me to do again?'

She landed next to Amon who seemingly had lost consciousness from the impact of the fall.

*Biff*

Kazuki started to land multiple punches on Ena while she was barely blocking the blows.

'Was it to kill these people?'

Ena grabbed Kazuki's fist.

'Shit.'

Kazuki thought to himself as he was chucked into a building. Ena stood still as she began to feel back in tune with her mind and body.

"I…Ena the Princess of the Sound Demons is…confused?"

Her whispers were only heard by her as she felt lost.

'What is going on? My head feels scrambled. I just want to go home.'

Something felt strange as Ena noticed something as she turned around.

'...The sun is rising…it's beautiful.'

She stared at the sun rising in a daze. Its rays of light started to hit her skin. She felt its warmth, the warmth of life she hadn't felt for her whole life it seemed. Except she had felt a familiar warmth. In her mother's arms.

'That's right…Mother wanted me to return to father.'
