Chapter Four: Humanity Pt. 2

“Addy, come on, we're going shopping.”

“For what?”

“Well, if we are gonna do this we are gonna want supplies or something don’t we?”

“Yeah, you’re right. But I’m still not exactly sure where we need to go.”

“Okay, but we can still get the things you think we would need.” I respected most out of Diablo, though he wasn’t the brightest he was thoughtful. But I couldn’t help to think that he was a greater distastor than the demons themselves. I was scared that everything that had happened to me and my family was due to him.

I watched him fix the baseball cap I had given him the day I first showed up in his class. It hid his horn pretty well I guess. He then smiled at me and left the room. I got off of the roof, crawled through the window, took my final steps downstairs and into the car where June and Aimi were sitting in the front seats.

“Anyways, what were you doing on the rooftop?” Diablo asked me, but honestly I didn’t even know why I was on the roof.

“Guess I just wanted a break from everything for a minute or so.”

“Oh, okay.”

“Yeah.” The car then started as June adjusted the mirrors.

“You guys buckled?”

“Yeah, I am.”

“Diablo?”

“Yep I am too.” She then turned to Aimi.

“No.”

“What did you say?” June had a madfelt look on her face. Aimi seemed to have gotten frightened as she quickly buckled up and apologized.

We all laughed as Aimi crossed her arms and let out a little “hmph!”

“Why are your eyes like that?”

“What?”

“Your eyes?” She asked, pointing at them.

“Oh, I was just born that way. I believe it’s just a gift.” I said with a little smile.

“So, you're not human?”

“Nope.” I said proudly. “I’m glad I’m not a human, though your brother isn’t fully human either.”

“What?!”

“Yeah, he’s part demon or something. He has a horn.” I said, holding my finger to my head mimicking a horn.

“What?!” We then pulled over to the side of the road, then she ripped the baseball cap off his head which he’d never taken off since we kissed. The horn grew a bit from last time, but nothing too noticeable.

“Why didn’t you tell me about this?!”

“Because you’d freak out like you're doing now.” He said putting the cap back on.

“Or even you, Addy? Why wouldn’t you tell me?”

“Well in my defense I thought he already told you?”

“Wait, is the other half of Diablo a goat?” She said, making horns with her fingers.

“No wonder he eats a lot.”

“I do not eat that much!” Diablo replied back.

I then laughed. As June drove back onto the road.

We stopped for a few minutes and then parked and went outside a big building.

“Where are we?”

“The mall.”

“Okay I’m going to take Addy and Diablo is going to be with Aimi.”

“Aww.”

“Come on Aimi, we're going to have fun.”

“Yeah, so much fun.” She said sarcastically as they left. June got out and closed the door, as I followed.

“Come on Addy, we gotta get you some new clothes.”

“Okay.” I said walking beside her. The building was huge and crowded.

“This way, don’t get lost now.” She led me into a big room with clothes everywhere. I am not saying they were on the floor. They were either hanging from poles or folded and put on shelves.

“You're telling me I can pick anything?”

“Yes, as long as it’s not too pricey.”

“Okay, thank you June.” I looked around the store until I finally found something I liked. It was a black jean jacket, with a patch on the back that had purple wings on it. I also found some purple-laced Converses which I felt would match."

“What about these?” I said, pointing them out to June. Both of the items together equaled up to $250, but June had  a 50coupon, so she only paid 125$

“Damn girl, over 100$ already. I'll buy but that’s all you're getting from here. I'm taking you somewhere cheaper.”

"What does cheaper mean?"

"That doesn't matter right now. Just come with me."

"Okay okay" I said, letting out a little laugh. As June smiled softly.

We then went to a different store and got some of what June had called "cheaper" clothes.

As we walked out of the store, we had been instantly ran into.

That's when I finally noticed how crowded it was.

"What the Heck man!?" I didn't enjoy being run into and I felt anger as heat started flowing through my hands. "Hey, Addy Chill it's Just me.. I'm sorry I ran into you." Diablo got up and helped me onto my feet. Aimi standing next to him.

“Why were you running anyways?”

“Because of that.” Aimi pointed at a very large man. I looked over at him and there stood a man in black clothing who began walking towards us once he spotted Diablo. He was wearing sunglasses and on his shirt it had the word "SECURITY" in big letters on it.

I watched as he slowly began creeping closer. Diablo kept shaking my shoulder, telling me that we had to leave, but for some reason I just couldn’t.

My body was tense. I felt empty, this man, this being, it had a presence I was familiar with. His aura was as evil as the devil himself. A murderous glare hinted from behind those glasses.

I knew this being. I knew this feeling. I knew why I couldn't move, and it was because this all happened before.

"Hello Addy. Long time no see." He said with a devilish grin.
