Chapter Two: Heartfelt Lies Pt. 2
Lunchtime had come at our school or what Leo had called it 'the underworld.' As I walked to my usual spot Leo began to talk.
"Looks like you're doing fine." He stated
"Honestly, for a second there I thought I was going to die." I admitted, feeling ashamed for being as frightened as I was.
Me and Leo sat down at an empty table.
"Can I join you guys?" Addy asked.
"Go ahead."
She sat down across from me and Leo.
"So, what exactly do you want now?"
"Yeah, are you gonna kiss him again?"
"Leo, please shut up."
"Oh hell no man, this is a first." He said as started to eat his food.
"I need a place to stay."
"What do you mean you need a place to stay? Do you need a body to possess or something weirdly strange and crazy?"
"She wants to sleep with you."
"Can you tell your friend here to shut it or leave?"
"Leo, you heard her." I felt a little bad for taking her side since Leo had been my closest friend for years and I only meant Addy last night in a dream, but still he was being really annoying.
"Okay, gezz, I'm sorry but I'm staying."
"I mean I guess you could crash at my place if that would work."
"I wasn't going to take any other answer just so you know, there really isn't anywhere else I could stay."
"Glad I said yes then for I know you probably would've tried to murder me." I laughed nervously. "So is that it then?"
"Yeah, most of it I'll tell you the rest later, when Leo isn't around." She then glared at Leo who wasn't paying attention to her and making faces in his mashed potatoes.
Then the bell rang and lunch ended.
"Well... Lunch is over, P.E. is our next class and as for you it seems you have the same class as us so just tag along I suppose. Today we are supposed to be playing dodgeball."
"What's that?" On our way to class Leo explained the whole subject to her, and I knew that for once she actually listened to him.
In the first part of class Addy took out everyone on the opposing team just by catching the ball. In the second play she rickashaded the ball off of one person and hit everyone else. Then one kid walked in and the ball flew at him with such speed and instantly he just caught the ball. He seemed irritated but all he did was smile.
"Holy crap!" The kid had red spiky hair, and when he smiled it was ear to ear. He had sharp pointy teeth, the kind you would've seen in a monster; the kind of teeth carved into a jack-o-lantern.
"That's not good."
"What's not good?"
"Get behind me, now!"
"Why?" He asked, looking confused and slightly worried.
"Just do it Leo." I said I knew this was going to be another big event.
"This kid, he, he isn't human."
"Hey there Addy, I'll be taking Diablo, he belongs to me." He replied with an evil smile. Then I felt an increase of the gravitational pull on me. It felt like that moment when you put two opposite magnets close together but they don't yet touch just a million times greater. It felt as if I had an entire building on me. I fell to my knees as the ground began to crack.
"Diablo!" I looked at Leo and wondered how he was standing there, as I collapsed. He began to dash over to me.
"Leo stay!" Addy yelled.
Once more my vision was blurred, I looked around, and everyone else seemed disconnected from the scene. They were staticing out, and they looked like those old tv screens when the show wouldn't connect.
I looked back at Addy and Leo. Addy had created some sort of shield with magic. A shield that seemed it could protect you from a nuclear bomb. Addy seemed really concerned and afraid. Something I had never seen in her before. Leo was hiding behind her hold on for dear life.
"No one else here can see what is happening, no one else for the moment can move. Everything in the world that is living is frozen." He then appeared in front of Addy and Leo with high speed and a clenched fist. He then attacked, but the aura around Addy and Leo had protected them. Once he had made contact with the aura he flew backwards and crashed into the wall. The aura had then become weaker from what I had seen.
"You little-"
"Who the Hell do you think you are?!" I shouted trying to distract him from going after Addy and Leo.
He then climbed out of the wall, his eyes glowing red with power. He then grinned ear to ear.
"You think you're tough don't you?" The ground then began to shake and break apart. Pieces of the floor tiles began to float and catch fire. He then smashed the tiles against what had been left of Addy's shield, I saw the aura fall apart then Addy used the stop watch again. The tiles had stopped in place and the fire extinguished.
"I asked you a question!" I said forcing myself to stand up. It was somehow really easy but I drained a lot of energy out of me.
"How did you get up?" He asked with a bit of shock but was mostly annoyed. I continued to walk towards him and clenched my fist.
"Stop. Diablo stop, I already have to deal with this brat." He then pointed in the direction of Addt and Leo. I then went into attack but before I could he had hit me in the stomach pushing me back to the other side of the gymnasium. I then fell back down and began to laugh. I didn't feel anything, but I knew something had happened. All the pressure I felt on me was gone and the tiles in the air had fallen to the ground.
"What are you laughing about?"
"The fact that your attack was far weaker than what I thought." I said letting out another laugh.
"Then I'll make it hurt." He had then ripped huge chunks out of the ground and smealted them into large fireballs. He then formed them all together in a greater sized fireball.
"Ready Hellboy?" He said with a greater smile on his devilish face.
"Come at me bro!" I said as I leaped into the air and as he launched the ball of flame into my direction.
"Do you ever shut up?"
